HPI Baja 5B Crate
The crate that I built for my boat worked out so well and has taken all the abuse that I've given it that part of getting my Baja 5B was to build one for it as well. I had some hardware left from building the first one and was able to find matching corners for the ones I didn't have enough of. This one is built from 1/2 inch maple plywood, doubled up on the corners, glued and brad nailed just like the first. I built a stand into the bottom to support the Baja on its chassis rather than having it sit on the suspension for long periods of time. I also built in two compartments for storing parts and whatever else I might need to keep handy. While I was at it I also put together a wooden caddy for carrying around the fuel can for the Baja and boat so I would have a place to mount the fuel pump and store some extra 2-stroke oil. So far they are both working out great!

The crate was built for my new 1/5th scale HPI Baja 5B. It has with a 26cc 2-stroke gasoline engine.

You can see the compartments and the stand in the center to keep it up off the suspension.

The Baja fits in with very little room to spare.

It was built to give it a safe place to be stored in the garage and make it stay put when transported in the back of the truck.

The corners and buckles match the crate I built for the RC boat a few years ago that is sitting behind it.

This is the gas can caddy I put together to carry a 1 gallon gas can, some oil and a few other things.

It was really built to mount the fuel pump I need to get gas into and out of the two vehicles.
