Living Room Renovation

Here is the stock photo from the original listing for the house, this is what we're starting with.

Just started painting around the door, the color is called fig, the end walls in the living and dining rooms will be this color.

I just had time to get started before spending a week in Spokane for work, the rest would have to wait.

It's not such a great picture but I got the wall done while the power was out from the storm, you can see the fresh snow through the window though.

The roller on an 8' extension can reach the lower parts of the ceiling, this wall and part of the banister are painted a color called wicker.

After my trip I got started on the biggest wall, the furniture was arriving in just a few days.

Without risking life and limb this was the highest I could paint with the step ladder.

After rolling in the scaffolding it's no problem to cut in the ceiling line.

The biggest wall took about a gallon of paint in two coats, the scaffolding saved the day.

We had to move the scaffolding to the the stairs to finish the last bit of cutting in near the ceiling, there was no other way to reach it.

To cut in the very last edge I had to tape a small brush to a 6' pole, it worked much better than I thought it would.

We found this ficus at a local nursery, they say it will grow a couple more feet someday, we think it really fills in the room.

There are lots of huge windows in this room so it gets plenty of natural light, we have yet to find lamps we like but we'll track them down soon.

This is the second couch we've had, the first one came in damaged, a grand total of about 3 months later and we have our red couch, it helps brighten the room a bit.

We haven't found anything for that wall yet, it may get a fireplace installed on it next year but we haven't decided if that will be too much for the room.

When the carpets get replaced with hardwood the entrance way will get tile instead of wood, it makes more sense with the amount of rain we get.

The walls in the staircase were too boring so we made a trip to Ikea, picked up a few cheap frames, printed a bunch of photos and mounted them all on the wall.  We still have two large prints on order and a few open spots for pictures of Stella.

We picked up a friend for the tree, he looks very happy there.
