Rebuild after the Fire

This is what they started with, at least the outside view of it.

Here is an example of an inside view right after the fire, you can see the rest here.

The garage roof came off first, the attic was full of stuff that had never been gone through, it was quite hard for us to see it and I've left those pictures out.

The fence was replaced in a couple of days, it mostly met my standards.

They removed the furnace and a lot more drywall than the did during the initial wet material tear out.

The main roof came off next and so did the rain, what a mess it turned into inside the house.

The tarp helped a bit but there was quite a bit of water in the house.

They were using the garage as a landing area for debris off of the second floor.

The shed went away earlier in the week, it will be rebuilt in the back corner of the yard.

The trusses were delivered the day after the demolition started.

Even though they had taken numerous dumpsters away there was still a huge amount of debris in the house.

Here it was on Friday, September 17th, the framers will be showing up on Monday.

The garage mostly framed in, the two doors will be replaced with a single large one, I'm already anxious for that, seems like a nice upgrade.

Sheeting started and some of the facia details up, moving along fast.

The roof trusses above the master bath, all starting to come together.

Most of the sheeting done, still working on the main roof.

Less than 2 weeks after the framers started they are done and the roofers put the paper down, next week is shingles, siding and exterior paint!

The shingles went up in one day and look just as awesome as they did before.

The siding crew got their scaffolding installed and the house papered before the material arrived, hopefully they knock it out quick.

Painters showed up and sprayed sealer on all exposed wood inside the house, plus just about everything else as well :(

The siding moved along very quickly, they did a great job of making it look just like it did before.

Paint finished, gutters to come.

We changed the garage to a single 16' door instead of the two smaller ones, very happy with out choice.

The changes to the master bathroom required two windows to be deleted and be replaced by this taller, narrow one.

We built out the area around the fireplace to house a 46" flat panel, a pair of front speakers, and a center channel.

After insulating the TV room ceiling I installed the rear and side surround speaker brackets in preparation for drywall.

The contractors moved the shed to the far corner of the yard, they even set it into the small incline like I requested.

They framed it up in just a few hours.

The gutter down spouts need to moved to the back and painted but other than that it's finished.

The tree was messing up the foundation so it is no longer.

With plenty of insulation the theater room should sound quite solid.

I got the garage all insulated before the drywall crew showed up.
