Boott Spur to Summit, Tuckerman's to basecamp

We all had the brilliant idea to hike Mount Washington and to do it via the Boott Spur Trail and then return on the Tuckerman's trail.  We hit it a little too hard to start out and really paid the price in the end, we were hurting on the way down.  The weather was incredible though, super clear and just the right temperature too.  It was cool to see the Ravine in the summer and see how rough the trail we hiked this spring really is under all that snow.

The red is our path downloaded from the GPS, click to watch the 3D fly over of the hike

Looking off of first bridge, we didn't know what we were in for yet

Yes that is the trail

Looking at the right side of the ravine from the Boott Spur

We hiked all the way around the ravine to the summit, then down through it to the Hermit Lake shelter

You can see the summit observatory and the trail leading down to the ravine

Gregg just before we started down into the ravine

Water pouring over the headwall, this is the "right shute" that people ski in the Spring

There I am, standing in front of at least 6 feet of snow in the middle of July!

Another view of that snow patch, you can see underneath it where the water is melting it away

Looking back up from the Hermit Lake shelter, it was a quick walk/run down from here
