The Epic Move

This is the story of our move from Rochester, NY to Worcester, MA with a 1 month layover in Hartford, CT.  We moved from our 2 bedroom house in Rochester to storage and my brother Dave's 2 bedroom apartment on Saturday, August 30, 2003.  We moved from storage and Dave's place to our new apartment in Worcester on Saturday, September 27, 2003.  So for just about a month we lived out of two duffel bags and the trunk of Lisa's car, to be honest it wasn't as bad as we expected.  Here are some pictures of all of the fun.

1989 GMC 24' U-haul truck with a mere 186,500 miles, empty it couldn't get out of it's own way!  At about a $400 rental fee this truck paid for itself back in 1991, right before it had it's last oil change!

5:00pm: Isis had to thoroughly inspect the truck for explosives before we could get started

9:00pm: Everyone stayed until dark, I crashed on the floor late, and Lisa cleaned through the whole night, waking me up to pick up Gregg at 4:00am

5:00 am: Gregg arrives from an overnight bus ride, he wants to see what he missed the night before

5:30 am: Isis wouldn't get more than 3' from, Jay, Lisa, Gregg, or any of the cars, she wasn't getting left behind!

8:00am: After some more cleaning we're off

3:00pm: 7 hours and 150 gallons of gas later Dave opens the storage room in Hartford, CT

4:00pm: Isis has no idea what's going on but she sees her bed in that pile of stuff and figures that has to be a good sign

4:15pm: "That's the 3rd time I moved that in two days, I need some icy hot"

5:00pm: "Good-bye stuff, hope to see you again soon".  Gregg locks up the storage room just as it starts to rain.

Just about 1 month later and after handling everything 2 more times, we have reached our destination, now we get to unpack and maybe someday, relax!
