June 2005

Lisa just finished Spring quarter at school so we planned a long weekend in NH to Kayak, do some hiking, and just hang out.  We did an overnight kayaking trip which you can see pictures from in the Kayak section.  We made it to Glen Ellis Falls in Pinkham Notch andThe Flume in Franconia Notch and drove through Crawford Notch.

The Ellis river before the falls, it was so hot you can see the fog hovering over the water

Just above the falls, the path follows the river down to the falls

The 65' falls drop off here

We had to snap a picture quick so the camera didn't get wet from the spray

This is taken below the Flume gorge

As we walked into the gorge the temperature dropped about 30 degrees

We got lucky, the railings are just high enough to hold the camera for a picture

The gorge is very narrow here, you can see the moisture in the air

There was so much water dripping off the sides of the gorge it felt like it was raining

This is the waterfall at the beginning of the gorge, walking out felt like walking out of an air conditioned room

A view down into the gorge from above the waterfall

Another waterfall in a smaller gorge beside the main one

They call this the 'Pool' for obvious reasons, its about 25 feet deep
