4th of July 2005

Lisa is up to her neck in school work already so we couldn't do much for the holiday weekend this year.  Brian hasn't been up to visit us here yet and didn't seem to have any other plans so he made the trip from Rochester.  We went up north to Franconia Notch State Park to ride the bike trail with Gregg on Saturday, stopped at Gregg's for a BBQ on the way home, and went to Todd and Carla's on Sunday for their Annual 4th of July party.  Todd takes fireworks pretty serious as you'll see in the pictures below, it was a great show and a great party.  I didn't take any pictures but luckily Brian did, these are his handywork.

Gregg stopping for a break just as we started to enter the narrow part of the notch

A nice clear day after weeks of hazy, humid days

From the top of Cannon Mountain, Interstate 93 through the valley

Brian climbed the observation deck at the summit, this glider was enjoying the fairly high winds, it's was only 48 degrees so he didn't spend much time up there

Todd the host, the American, the person with a fireworks problem!

All of us enjoying some brews in the shade before the hog was served, it sure was tasty too

The staging area, Todd has been preparing these for weeks, this is only about 60% of it

All the pods were moved out to the yard, you can see all 8 if you look close

I couldn't resist helping out, Echo team's pod launched all ordinance successfully

Todd making some last minute adjustments

Todd at the master control panel with a beer, certain rules had to be followed!

Somebody with an awesome camera got this shot, you can see Todd sitting in front with his launch console, click for a video of the grand finale
